Description

Explore the heart of Crete with mountains, gorges, and a stunning beach!

Our day begins with a drive to Mount Giouktas, where you’ll enjoy amazing views of the Aegean Sea. According to legend, this mountain is the final resting place of Zeus. From there, we pass through large vineyards where the Minoans built the world’s oldest wine press.

Next, we stop at a mountain village for a coffee with the locals. Then, we continue along dirt roads and hills covered in olive trees to the top of Tripiti Gorge. From this high point, you’ll have a fantastic view of the gorge, its rock layers, wild herbs, and the Libyan Sea.

We then head down to one of Crete’s most beautiful gorges. You’ll have the chance to take a short walk (300 meters) to the narrowest part, where you’ll find the little church of Panagia, built into the rocks.

After working up an appetite, we head to Tripiti Beach for a tasty lunch right by the sea, with unlimited wine and water. You’ll also have about an hour of free time to swim in the clear blue waters of the Libyan Sea.

On our way back along the south coast, we pass through small traditional villages full of charm. We stop once more to enjoy a local drink—Raki!

This is a day full of fun, great views, and local flavors. You won’t forget your adventure with Exploring Club Crete!
